ImpactScope purchases offsets from Climeworks, a Swiss company also specializing in DAC. Climework’s flagship facility, named Orca, is the world’s biggest DAC plant. CO2 that is captured is naturally mineralized underground by reacting with basalt rock and turning it into stone.

The DAC method is the only carbon capture technology that can directly capture CO2 previously emitted. As such, the market for direct air capture systems has grown tremendously in recent years.
